Shakib to lead Tigers till T20I World Cup

Finally ending all the speculations, Shakib Al Hasan was made the T20 captain of the national team. Shakib will lead the national team not only in the upcoming Asia Cup but also in the T20 World Cup in Australia this year.
At the same time, the 17-member squad of Bangladesh for the upcoming Asia Cup was also announced today, Saturday (August 13). Sabbir Rahman returned to the national team in this year’s squad. Besides, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad were also returned to the team.
Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu announced the team for the Asia Cup after a meeting with Shakib at BCB chief Nazmul Hasan Papon’s residence in the capital’s Gulshan on Saturday afternoon.
Two selectors Minhajul Abedin Nannu and Habibul Bashar Sumon, team director Khaled Mahmud Sujon, and director Jalal Yunus were present in the board directors’ meeting with Shakib.
Shakib Al Hasan returned home at 3 pm on Friday, August 12 to discuss the controversy related to Betwinner News. After resting in the morning, Shakib went to BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon’s Gulshan residence at around 3:15 pm.
After detailed discussions with Shakib, BCB announced him as the captain of this year’s Asia Cup team.
