Cricketers celebrate Padma Bridge inauguration

The Padma Bridge is the largest communication project in the history of the country. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the much-anticipated bridge on Saturday. 

Bangladesh national cricket team celebrated the huge achievement of the country about 15,000 km away in St. Lucia, West Indies. Shakib Al Hasan's team has joined the festival even though it is far away. The cricketers celebrated the inauguration of the Padma Bridge by cutting a cake.

The Bangladesh cricket team is now in West Indies to play a full series of two Tests and three ODIs and as many T20Is. After losing the first Test, the fight to save the series started yesterday in the second Test. At the end of the Test series, the Bangladesh team will play in the T20. Then the ODI series will end on July 16.

However, the bridge was inaugurated during the second Test of the series. National cricketers are not in the country at this time. That is why they did not deprive themselves of the joy of inaugurating the bridge. The Bangladesh team celebrated this moment by cutting a huge cake. Earlier, the ongoing test series was named after the Padma Bridge to highlight the background and arrival of this bridge to the world. Bangladeshi tech giant Walton is the presented sponsor of the Test series. The official name of the series is 'Padma Bridge Dream Fullfield Friendship Test Series Presented by Walton.' 

The Padma Bridge has also found a place in the official logo.
