Bangladesh concede 2-1 loss to Turkmenistan

Bangladesh lost the second match against Turkmenistan 2-1 of the Asian Cup qualifiers at Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday. However, the first half was 1-1 level.

Unmarked Zafar Babajanov got the ball in the D-box after a corner in the second minute of the match but his shot went over the crossbar. Turkmenistan got four corners in seven minutes and went ahead netting the fourth. Ziko had no answer to stop Annadurdyyew's corner-placing shot in the corner. The ball got entangled in the distant post.

Bangladesh turned around in the twelfth minute. Mohammad Ibrahim equalized with the head. Bangladesh created one opportunity after another but they did not find the net due to finishing problems.

In the 20th minute, Sajjad got into the box with the ball but in the end, he could not get along with the defender. This forward lost his balance. Bangladesh went on a team attack in the 23rd minute. But the forwards made a mess in the box and missed the opportunity to lead.

Bangladesh shook the defense of Turkmenistan again in the 36th minute but failed to find the net. Turkmenistan could go ahead in the 40th minute but Anisur Rahman Zico saved Bangladesh blocking a corner kick from Khalmamedov.

In the 43rd minute, Anaguliyev denied Bangladesh getting a goal by saving a short from Rakib. For the rest of the first half, the counter-attack continued. However, neither team was able to goal.

After so much looking for the turning point, Turkmenistan reached the second with Elman Tagayev in the 77th minute.

With two minutes left in the game, Bangladesh got the best chance of the match. Tutul Hossain Badshah got the ball from Jamal Bhuiyan's free-kick but failed to net it.

Apart from this, Bangladesh has wasted several opportunities. But the biggest thing is that Bangladesh played hard in this match.

Bangladesh will play the last match on June 14 against Malaysia.
