The first Test of the two-match series between host Bangladesh and Sri Lanka ended in a draw in the final session of Day-5 at Chattogram today. 

Sri Lanka reduced to 161/6 thanks to Tajijul Islam four for. They were 205-6 at tea on day five. From here, they fought back thanks to Niroshan Dickwella and Dinesh Chandimal's unbeaten 99 runs stand for the seventh wickets. Niroshan Dickwella scored 61 not out and Dinesh Chandimal remained not out scoring 39.

For Bangladesh Taijul Islam 82/4 was the best bowler while Shakib Al Hasan bagged one wicket. 

Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. They were all out for 397 in their first innings. Angelo Mathews 199 was the best batter for the visitor while Kusal Mendis made 54 and Dinesh Chandimal scored 66.

Bangladesh gained a 68-run first innings lead, compiling 465 in reply to Sri Lanka's 397 all out. Tamim Iqbal scored 133, Mushfiqur Rahim 105, Litton Das 88 and Mahmudul Hasan Joy 58.

Sri Lanka declared their second innings for 260/6 but both teams conceded a draw.

The second and final Test of the series will start on May 23 in Dhaka.
