Gujarat Titans are one of the two new teams in this year's edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise has named Afghan superstar Rashid Khan as their vice-captain. The leg-spinner will be the deputy in the team led by Hardik Pandya.

Ten teams will take part in the 15th edition of IPL. Earlier, it was the eight-team tournament. Newly added franchises in Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants. Before the auction, Gujarat roped in 3 cricketers in the team. Rashid Khan is one of them.

On Sunday, Gujarat announced Rashid Khan as their vice-captain. Rashid has led Afghanistan in all three formats in the past. Under him, the Afghans have won one Test and one ODI, and four T20I matches.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has said that the new franchises will have to pay Rs15 crore, Rs 11 crore, and Rs 7 crore respectively for the three cricketers. Gujarat, which is going to play for the first time, also had to fix the remuneration of three cricketers in this order.

However, the team is giving Rs 15 crore to Rashid Khan, Captain Hardik. Rashid's fellow Gujrat Titans are dominated by Afghan cricketers this time. Apart from Rashid, Nur Ahmed and Rahmanullah Gurbaj will play for the franchises.
