Bowlers helped Bangladesh to bowl Afghanistan all out for 215 in the first ODI of the three-match series in Chattogram.

Afghanistan captain Hasmatullah Shahidi decided to bat first after winning the toss against Bangladesh in the first of three-match ODI series today at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

Rahmatullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran opened the innings for Afghanistan. Ace left-arm paceman Mustafizur Rahman gave Bangladesh an early breakthrough taking the wicket of Afghan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz who charged down the ground to play it over the infield but was only able to find the hands of Tamim Iqbal at midwicket. He walks out after a 14-ball 7.

Just when Afghanistan batters started building a partnership and were seemingly getting into the groove after a tricky first phase of the game, young left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam did the trick for Bangladesh. Shoriful ended a promising 45-run stand between Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmat Shah when he had the former edge one back and had him caught at first slip. Zadran, who was dropped on 3, walks out after a 23-ball 19.

Taskin Ahmed took the wicket of Rahmat Shah to give third breakthrough to Bangladesh. Rahmat departs after a steady 69-ball 34.

Skipper Tamim Iqbal brings part-time spinner Mahmudullah Riyad and he serves the purpose almost immediately taking the wicket of Hashmatullah Shahidi (28 off 43), the Afghanistan skipper.

Mohammad Nabi and Najibullah Zadran rebuild the innings for Afghanistan adding 63 off 63 for the fifth wicket stand. Taskin Ahmed broke the stand taking the wicket of Mohammad Nabi (20 off 24).

Najibullah Zadran and Gulbadin Naib (17) added 29 runs for the sixth wickets stand before the latter got out by Shakib Al Hasan.
As the visitor lost wickets at regular intervals Najibullah Zadran kept one side intake but he also got dismissed as the 9th batter in the 49th over scoring 67 off 84, his innings adorned with four boundaries and 2 over boundaries. Mustafizur Rahman removed Yamin Ahmadzai in the very first ball of the last over to all-out the visitor for 215.

For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman took 3 for 35 while Taskin Ahmed 2/55, Shoriful Islam 2/38, Shakib 1/50, Mahmudullah 1/4.
