Andre Fletcher and skipper Mushfiqur Rahim powered Khulna Tigers to emphatic six wickets victory over Chattogram Challengers in the 9th match of the BPL today. 

Replying to 143/8 of Chattogram Challengers, Khulna Tigers chased down the target with 7 balls in hand. 

Chasing the target, Khulna lost opener Soumya Sarkar to 2. Rony Talukdar and Andre Fletcher put 50 runs for the second wicket stand to keep the Tigers in the contest. When Rony Talukdar was caught by Jacks off Nasum Ahmed Khulna were 52/2 in 7.5 over. 

Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and Andre Fletcher made 46 runs stand for the third wickets stand before the latter was dismissed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz scoring team highest 58 off 47. His innings were adorned with six fours and two sixes. 

Mushfiqur Rahim and Seekkuge Prasanna (23 off 15) did the rest for the Khulna Tigers adding 45 runs for the fourth wickets stand before the latter went out when Khulna were 1 run away from victory. 

Mushfiqur Rahim remained not out scoring 44 off 30. His innings were adorned with four fours and one six. 

For Chattogram Challengers, skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz bagged 2/24 while Shoriful Islam took 1/32 and Nasum Ahmed took 1/24.

Earlier, after sending to bat first Khulna Tigers restricted Chattogram Challengers to 143/8 in the 9th Match of Bangladesh Premier League 2022 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.

Chattogram lost opener Kennar Lewis in the first ball of the second over. Will Jacks (28 off 23) and Afif Hossain put 57 runs for the second wickets stand before the former being bowled by Thisara Perera which backs Challengers to race. But they lost Sabbir Rahman (4) and skipper Miraz (6) in quick succession. 

Benny Howell who was the most successful batter for the Challengers went out cheaply and was followed by Afif Hossain (44 off 37)

Challengers past 140 thanks to Naeem Islam's 19-ball 25 and Shoriful Islam 12 off 6 not out at the end of the innings.

Thisara Perera was the most successful bowler for the Khulna Tigers with 3 for 18 while Kamrul Islam, Nabil Samad, Mahedi Hasan,  Seekkuge Prasanna, and Farhad Reza took one wicket apiece.
