Former England wicketkeeper-batsman Paul Nixon has arrived in Dhaka to take charge of the head coach role of Chattogram Challengers for the second time in a row.

Chattogram Challengers Chief Operating Officer (COO) Syed Yasir Alam gave a warm welcome to Head Coach Paul Nixon at Dhaka Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday afternoon.

Managing Director of Chattogram Challengers K.M. Rifatuzzaman received Paul Nixon at the party headquarters.

KM Rifatuzzaman said Paul Nixon is with us from the starting. We are very satisfied with his service last time. That's why we have brought Paul this time around. I believe that this time BPL will be great for all the members of the youth-dependent Challengers squad. Paul in his coaching experience will surely help us achieve the goal.

If all goes well, Chattogram Challengers' local cricketers will start arriving at the team hotel from Sunday while foreign cricketers will start coming a day later. After that, the practice will start in full swing. Australian pace legend Shaun Tait will be Paul Nixon's deputy.

Paul Nixon said that Chattogram Challengers has formed a youth-dependent team for this year's BPL. "There is no shortage of talent in the team. Many have already proved their worth in the national team. I believe something great will happen in BPL 2022. I am very excited," Nixon added.

Paul Nixon is the head coach of the county team Leicestershire. The former head coach of Lancashire will take charge of Chattogram  Challengers. The wicketkeeper-batter has played 19 ODIs and one T20I for England.
