Bangladesh made history by winning the Test against New Zealand on their home ground. Mominul Haque has led the entire team from the front like a captain with the bat, just as the bowlers have led from the front with the ball in this Test victory.
In the first innings, Mominul came out of the bat with impeccable 88-run innings. The captain of Team Bangladesh left the field after winning the match unbeaten in the second innings. Mominul Haque stood tall after winning the historic Test at Mount Maunganui.
Reacting to the victory after the match, Mominul said, “We were not doing well in Test cricket. We lost the last two matches. The Test team needed a win to lay the groundwork to move forward. This victory was very important from there.”
The success of the team is more important to the captain than the success of the individual. “It was a team success. Everyone was aiming to win. Batting, bowling, fielding - everyone came forward,” Mominul said.
Later, he said specifically, “We won mainly because of our bowlers. In the first and second innings, they were great. They have worked hard. The ball is in the right place. New Zealand has been put under pressure.”
Praising Ebadot Hossain, captain Muminul said the wicket also became dry as the sun started giving heat. “We tried to take advantage of that. Ebadot bowled incredibly. In a word, he has bowled great.”
