Bangladesh dominating 3rd day with spin skills

Although Pakistan completed the second day without losing wickets, they lost 8 wickets on the third day in two sessions. Bangladesh, who was struggling on the second day, is now leading the match with dominance on the third day of the first test held at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Sunday.  

Till the report, Pakistan scored 247 runs after losing 8 wickets. They were trailed by 87 runs.

Batting on the 3rd day in the first session, Pakistan started the day with 145 runs without losing a wicket where Pakistani openers Abid Ali scored at 93 and Abdullah Shafique at 52. In the first over the day, Taijul Islam hit Pakistan’s batting lineup. later, his double wickets in the same over gave comfort on Bangladesh’s side. 

Taijul returned Shafique in the fifth ball of the 58th over. Shafique, who scored 52, returned to the dugout without scoring any runs on the third day. Later, Azhar Ali returned in the next ball of Taijul’s same over. Azhar scored duck (O runs).

Abid Ali, who was unbeaten at 93 runs on the second day, completed his 4th century. He made his ton after playing 209 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes.

Although Abid Ali was unbeaten from one end, Pakistan’s other batsman started the “dugout marching” as Taijul, who returned both Shafique and Abid in the same over, has started hitting Pakistan’s batting line up again with the wicket of Fawad Alam. Fawad Alam scored 8 runs off 15 balls. 

Before this, captain Babar Azam wanted to defend a ball of Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s over, but went past the outside edge and hit the stump. Spinner Miraz took the wicket of Azam in the 72nd over. Babar Azam scored 10 runs.   

Centurian Abid Ali, who took the helm of Pakistan’s batting lineup, went to the dugout in his 133 runs. Taijul Islam took the wicket of Abid Ali. Later, any other batters from the Pakistan side could not score further. Right-arm fast-medium Ebadat Hossain later joined Taijul Islam in wicket-taking. 

For Bangladesh, Taijul Islam took 5 wickets alone while Ebadat Hossain took 2 wickets and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took one wicket.
