Tigresses beat USA by 270 runs

Bangladesh  National Women's cricket team beat the USA by record 270 runs in their second Group B match of  ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier at Harare today. 

Batting first, Bangladesh Women post 322/5 thanks to Sharmin Akter Supta's maiden ODI century. In reply, USA women all out for 52 runs in 30.3 overs.

The USA lose wickets in regular intervals while chasing huge targets set up by the Bangladesh Women team. Only skipper Sindhu Sriharsha (15) and Tara Norris (16) got the double-digit figure.

For Bangladesh, Salma Khatun, Fahima Khatun and Rumana Ahmed bagged two wickets apiece. While Jahanara Alam took one wicket. 

Earlier, winning the toss the USA women sent Bangladesh to bat first. Openers gave a flying start to the women in red-green. Murshida Khatun and Sharmin Akter added 96 runs for the opening stand in 16.1 over before the former dismissed scoring 56 off 47. Her innings was adorned with five fours. 

Sharmin and Nigar Sultana post 48 runs for the second wicket stand before the latter went out for 33 off 26 with the help of five fours. 

Sharmin made 137 runs stand for the third wicket with Fargana Huque. When Fargana went out scoring 67 off 62 Bangladesh were 281/3 in 44.1 overs. Rumana Ahmed and Ritu were also dismissed cheaply. Bangladesh was able to post huge total as Sharmin left the field scoring her highest ODI total 130 off 141. Her innings adorned with 11 boundaries. Lata Mondol 17 was the other not-out batter.
