Pakistan win last-ball thriller to whitewash Bangladesh

Pakistan whitewashed Bangladesh in the three-match T20I series 3-0 beating them by 5 wickets in the last and final T20I at Mirpur today. After winning the toss, Bangladesh post 124/7 in 20 overs. In reply, Pakistan chased it down losing five wickets in the last ball thriller.

Chasing the target Pakistan got a good start as openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan added 32-run for the opening stand before Babar was dismissed by Aminul Islam. 

Mohammad Rizwan and Haider Ali take the helm on their shoulders and added 51 runs for the second wicket stand.

Debutant pacer Shohidul Islam removed in-form Pakistan opener Mohammad Rizwan (40 off 43) when the men in green were 83/2 in 15.1 overs. 

Haider Ali (45 off 38) and Sarfaraz Ahmed (6) keep Pakistan in the right direction. Pakistan required 8 from the final. Skipper Mahmudullah took the ball and he dot the first ball and got the wicket of Sarfaraz and Haider Ali in the second and third ball. But in the third ball, Iftikhar hit six. Mahmudullah struck again in the fifth ball to remove Iftikhar Ahmed. Mohammad Nawaz hit four in the last ball to seal five-wicket victory for Pakistan.

Bangladesh have posted 125-run target for visiting Pakistan for the loss of 7 wickets in the third and final T20 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today. Thanks to opener Mohammad Naim's 47 off 50.

Earlier, Bangladesh T20I skipper Mahmudullah Riyad won the toss and elected to bat first in Mirpur today. 

But their start wasn't excellent as they lose an early wicket, as usual, this time around. Debutant Pakistani pacer Dahani removed Nazmul Hossain Shanto (5 off 5) in his first and innings' second over.

Bangladesh lost their second wickets to 37 when Shamim Hossain (22 off 23) fell to Iftikhar Ahmed.

Afif Hossain and Mohammad Naim tried to rebuild for Bangladesh adding 43 runs for the third wickets stand before the former fell to Usman Qadir scoring 20 off 21. 

Naim and skipper Mahmudullah 31 runs for the fourth wickets stand before the former caught and bowled by Mohammad Wasim for 47 off 50. 

Bangladesh past 120-mark thanks to skipper Mahmumullah's 13 off 14 towards the end.

For Pakistan, spinner Usman Qadir took 2 wickets, Mohammad Wasim and Dahani bagged one wicket apiece.
