The Bangladeshi cricketers are returning home in two groups after completing a disappointing World Cup mission. They boarded the Emirates Airlines at 10:30 am local time in Dubai on Friday.

Seven cricketers of the national team left Dubai today; they are – Rubel Hossain, Afif Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Nasum Ahmed, Mostafizur Rahman, Shamim Patwari and Naeem Sheikh. They are accompanied by BCB media manager Rabid Imam and doctor Debashish Chowdhury.

Meanwhile, it was seen at the Dubai airport that the Tiger cricketers are boarding the aircraft with luggage stuffed with goods.

Journalist Noah Abdullah wrote on Facebook after sharing two posts of Bangladeshi cricketers returning to the country, “Why so much luggage with them! Do not think I am satire, seriously want to know.”

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) media manager Rabid Imam said four cricketers are not coming with the team. They are captain Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim, Liton Das and Taskin Ahmed. The four cricketers will spend a few days in Dubai with their families.

This year, in the T20 World Cup, the Bangladesh team has shown the worst performance of the memorable period by qualifying to the Super 12. Bangladesh started their ICC T20 World Cup campaign with a loss to Scotland in the first round. Later, Mahmudullah defeated Oman and Papua New Guinea and somehow got a place in the Super 12.

However, Bangladesh did not win a single match in the Super 12. They tasted defeat in all five matches of the group. In the last match, Bangladesh did not get a chance against Australia. The entire team had to leave the field with a lot of shame.
