The ICC, the world’s top governing body for cricket, has announced total prize money of $56 lakh for this year’s T20 World Cup. Bangladesh has ended this year’s event with a shameful defeat against Australia. Despite giving one disappointing gift after another in the tournament, the Tigers are returning to the country with big money prizes!

The Bangladesh cricket team has lost six of the eight matches in this year’s World Cup. They have lost five matches in a row in the Super 12. Earlier, Mahmudullah Riyad’s team lost to Scotland in their first match in the first round.

Bangladesh is getting a prize of $1.5 lakh for two wins and qualifying into Super 12. The Tigers will receive a total of $80,000 - $40,000 for each of the two wins in the first round and another $70,000 for qualifying into Super 12.

In all, Bangladesh is getting $1.5 lakh dollars, worth Tk 1.28 crore, from this year’s World Cup.

It is to be mentioned that there is an allocation of $16 lakh dollars for the champion team in this year’s ICC T20 World Cup and the runners-up team will get $8 lakh.
