Jason Roy's 61 off 38 guided England to a comprehensive eight wickets victory over Bangladesh in their second Super 12, Group 1, match at Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi. This is the second consecutive victory for the English while it is second defeat for Bangladesh in the Super 12 stage.

After winning the toss Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah chose to bat first and post only 124/9 in 20 overs. In reply, England who are the number one T20I team, chased down it in 14.4 overs losing only two wickets.

Chasing the target Engladesh got the brisk start. Jason Roy and Josh Buttler put 39 off 29 for the opening stand before the latter went out to Nasum Ahmed in the fifth ball of the 5th over.

Roy and Dawid Malan took the helm and put 73 off 48 for the second wicket stand before Roy dismissed by Shoriful Islam scoring 61 off 38.

Malan (28 off 25) and Jonny Bairstow (8 off 4) finished the job without losing wickets. England chased down the target with 35 balls remaining.

Earlier, England started brilliantly with the ball as Moeen Ali removed openers Liton Das and Naim Sheikh while Chris Woakes got the crucial wicket of Shakib Al Hasan. Bangladesh were put on the backfoot early on by England and by the end of 15 overs, Bangladesh were struggling at 83/6 against a top-notch England bowling performance in hot conditions.

Tymal Mills ended strongly with figures of 3/27 after a late scoring surge by Nasum Ahmed to give some respect to the total.
