World’s number one Tennis player Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena Đoković tested negative for the novel coronavirus, 10 days after they announced that they were Covid-19 positive.
The Serbian tennis star was widely criticized for organizing a charity tournament a few days ago where players like Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric and Viktor Troicki announced they have contracted the disease. Eventually, Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena tested positive for the virus when retuning to Belgrade by postponing the event.
It was revealed through a statement that both Djokovic and his wife had no symptoms and were in self-isolation in the Serbian capital since testing positive. Now it has been revealed that they have tested negative for the highly infectious virus.
“I am very sorry for everyone,” Djokovic said in a statement about the tournament. “I hope that no one’s physical condition doesn't get complicated and everyone will recover soon. We organized the tournament to unite and solidarity the people.”
Also, the star expressed happiness at being cured, saying, “I am very happy to be able to recover. I hope that the other tournaments of tennis, especially the Grand Slams, will begin in the next few days.”
