Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said that currently people of the country talk to their relatives abroad through SMS, mail, Viber, WhatsApp, Imo. These were technical challenges for us. We have acquired the ability to meet the challenges of technology. Our hard work is behind the success of Bangladesh Postal Department today.

He said these things while inspecting the construction work of Baliati post office in Saturia upazila of Manikganj on Thursday afternoon.

The minister said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has put me in this place to wake up the postal department of the country. For this, Bangladesh Postal Department to be converted into digital postal department.

He also said that you can know where your parcel is by sitting at home through mobile phone. You will also know, to which peon or who will deliver the arrangements are being made. In the meantime, a survey is being conducted to digitize the post office. The survey of all post offices will be completed by September.

Mustafa Jabbar said that no courier service in the country can compete with the postal department. There are about 9,000 post offices in Bangladesh. Their peons know every house. No courier service can do this system.

At that time, the minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the quality of the work of the post office under construction in Baliati. He also directed the Director General of Postal Department to take action.
