Awami League (AL) has nominated Arkanul Rifat for the mayoral post in Comilla City Corporation (COCC) elections.
Arkanul Rifat is the general secretary of Cumilla Metropolitan Awami League, sources said at a meeting on Friday.
For COCC polls, 14 people collected and submitted nomination forms to get the Awami League party nomination. The Nomination Board has finalized Arkanul Rifat as the Awami League candidate.
The Election Commission (EC) has announced the schedule for Comilla City Corporation (COCC) elections on June 15.
