Jubo League, the youth wing of ruling Awami League, paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman marking its 49th founding anniversary on Thursday.

Flanked by the party’s central leaders, Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash paid homage by laying wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of the Bangabandhu Bhaban on Dhanmondi Road No. 32 this morning.

Later, they paid homage to martyrs of August 15, 1975, including Founder Chairman of Jubo League Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani, at the Banani graveyard. Special prayers and doa-mahfil were also held seeking the eternal peace of their departed souls.

Central leaders and activists including Jubo League Presidium members  Dr Khaled Shawkat Ali, Habibur Rahman Pawan, Nixon Chowdhury, Joint General Secretary Subrata Pal were present, among others, on the occasion.

Bangladesh Awami Jubo League commonly known as Jubo League is the first youth organization of Bangladesh founded by Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani under the direction of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through a youth convention at the Institution of Engineers on November 11, 1972.

The organization was established with the aim of involving the youth in the struggle for a non-communal, democratic and exploitation-free Bangladesh.

Nowadays, Jubo League has become the largest youth organization in the country through long struggle and sacrifices of thousands of leaders and workers for more than four decades.
