Once upon a time, drug addicts used to lie unconscious; were garbage piles. The park is in a state of disrepair due to neglect. However, the Dhaka South City Corporation corporation took the initiative to give life to the park. So long, I was telling you about Shahid Matiur Park in Gulistan. Following the renovation work, the park seems to get back its life.

This park has attracted the attention of visitors thanks to South City Corporation. That is why visitors are coming here to spend time every day. They are expressing relief after getting a beautiful environment in the park.

Visiting the spot it has been seen that the Park is decorated beautifully. Visitors can enter the park through any gate on three sides by buying a ticket for only Tk 10.

There are several rides installed in the park. There are boats in the pond. Visitors can use the boats for a fixed fee. There is a beautiful ghat on the west bank of the pond. Where visitors spend time sitting. Many people were seen spending time in the park sitting under trees. The park has several rides for children including boat swing, city swing, and train car. Besides, the boundary wall around the park has been made.

According to related sources, the park was named after Matiur, who was killed in the anti-Ayub Khan movement in 1969. In the beginning, the area was 37.9 bighas, but now it has decreased a bit due to the encroachment of many surrounding areas. A link road was constructed through the park in 1995-96 to facilitate vehicular and pedestrian movement. In 1997, Mahanagar theater stage was constructed at a cost of Tk 5 crore 35 lakh at the park space.

Adnan Habib, who came to visit the park, said that some of our friends came to Gulistan. I thought I would go to the park and spend some time. I have been to the park before, there was no ticket system then. This is the first time I came after doing the ticket system. I don't see any problem here. There is a beautiful environment to spend time in this park.

Aziz works in a private company and lives with his family in Jatrabari said that he can't give time to his family due to work pressure. That's why he came to Motiur Park with his family on holiday.

He told Daily Bangladesh that there is a lack of places to spend time with family in Dhaka city. This park has been renovated and given a beautiful environment. It feels good to bring the family. The cool shade air here is soothing.

Sobhan works in a bank. He told Daily Bangladesh, "There is no open space for walking in Dhaka city. So I bought a ticket for Tk 10 and came here for a walk. It is nice to walk in such an environment. I come here almost everyday to walk."
