Over 4 crore people received booster doses: Health Minister

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said that more than 4 crore people have received booster doses against coronavirus in the country.

He said came up with the development while inaugurating the experimental corona vaccination program for children aged 5 to 11 years at Bangabandhu International Conference Center on Thursday afternoon. 

On the first day, a total of 16 school children of classes I to V of Abul Basha Government Primary School in the capital Mohammadpur received the first shot of specially made Covid-19 vaccine for children.

"After today's trial run, the campaign will be held in city corporation areas and then it will be implemented countrywide," said Zahid Maleque.

He said, "We have received 31 crores 9 lakh vaccines so far. A total of, 12 crores 57 lakh people received the first dose, 12 crores get second dose and over 4 crore people inoculated the booster dose so far."

The health minister said that children are being vaccinated Pfizer jabs. This vaccine is also being given in the United States. Our drug administration has also approved this vaccine. It is safe for children.
