Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said that the railway fare will be adjusted soon due to the increase in the price of fuel oil.
He said this in response to a question from journalists while inspecting double line work on Tongi-Gazipur route at Joydevpur railway junction on Tuesday afternoon.
The railway minister said that despite the increase of fuel prices, no decision has been taken to increase the train fare yet. Meanwhile, increasing the bus fare will put a lot of passenger pressure on the train. Train fares will be adjusted to accommodate this.
He also said that they should be aware to avoid railway accidents. Rail gates are made mainly for railway safety. But those who are on the road also have to fulfill their responsibility for safe roads. We are responsible for safe railways, if someone gets into an accident while crossing a rail line, the railways will not take responsibility.
