China will issue Visas to students from Monday

The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka will start issuing visas and travel permits for Bangladeshi students studying in China from Monday (August 8).

A bilateral meeting was held between Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen and visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at a hotel in Dhaka on Sunday. The announcement was made by the Chinese Foreign Minister at the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, the State Minister of Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam briefed the journalists. He said that the meeting lasted for about one and a half hours. the chinese Foreign Minister announced at the meeting That the chinese Embassy in Dhaka will start visa and travel permit from Monday.

Meanwhile, after the Momen-Wang Yi meeting, Chinese Deputy Ambassador Hualon Yan said on his verified Facebook page that in the meeting with the Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Momen, Wang Yi announced that all Bangladeshi students will return to the Chinese campus from today (Sunday). Visas will be issued to Bangladeshi students as soon as possible.

The Chinese Foreign Minister arrived in Dhaka at 5 pm on Saturday (August 6) for a two-day visit. In the first program of the visit, he paid tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at number 32 Dhanmondi in the capital.

China suspended visa services for Bangladeshi students since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country in late 2019.
