Tk 100cr toll collected on Padma Bridge in 41 days

The Padma Bridge authorities have collected over 100 crore in tolls in 41 days since the bridge was opened to traffic. During this time, about 8 lakh vehicles crossed through the toll plazas at both ends (Mawa and Zajira).
On Sunday morning, Executive engineer of Padma Bridge Dewan Mohammad Abdul Qader confirmed the matter. Abdul Quader said that in the last 41 days, about 20,000 vehicles have crossed the Padma Bridge on an average every day.
According to the website of Bangladesh Bridge Authority, till last Friday (August 5), the total toll collected at Padma Bridge was 99,07,83,400 taka and 7,45,349 vehicles.
Executive engineer who is in charge at the Mawa end of Padma Setu said that a total of Tk 101,914,400 tolls have been collected from the two toll plazas till Saturday. 797,815 vehicles crossed during this time.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Padma Bridge on June 25. Traffic started from 6 am the next day. 51 thousand 316 vehicles ply on Padma Setu on the first day. 2 crore 9 lakh 40 thousand 300 taka has been collected from these vehicles.
