Government adjust fuel prices without finding any way: Nasrul Hamid

Price hike of fuel have been increased since Friday night. State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said in a press release at night, in the current global context, the price of fuel oil in the world market is much higher than Bangladesh.
“Awami League government always takes decisions considering the comfort and convenience of our people. As long as it was possible, the government did not think of increasing the price of fuel oil. In view of the situation, the price has to be adjusted somewhat, said Nasrul Hamid.
he state minister said, in April 2016, the government reduced the price of fuel oil. Fuel oil prices will be revised accordingly when the situation normalizes.
Earlier on Friday afternoon, Highlighting the worldwide rise in oil prices the state minister hinted that fuel prices would increase. But the level of that increase will be ‘reasonable’ and ‘tolerable’. Within a few hours, the price of diesel and kerosene increased by Tk 34 per litre. Petrol has increased by Rs 44 and octane by Rs 46. The new prices are effective from 12 midnight onwards.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Energy, from now the price of diesel will be 114 taka per liter, which was 80 taka so far. The price of kerosene has also been hiked at the same rate. The new price is the same as diesel ie Rs 114. Petrol and octane prices have also been increased. The new price of petrol is Tk 130 per litre, which was Tk 86 so far. Octane price has been increased from Tk 89 to Tk 135.
