Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs Michele J. Sison is coming to Dhaka Today (Saturday, August 6) on a four-day visit. In addition to bilateral issues of Dhaka-Washington, global and regional issues will be important in the visit of this important representative of the Biden administration. He is scheduled to leave Dhaka on Tuesday (August 9).
According to sources, Michelle J. Sison's visit to Dhaka will discuss issues related to Washington’s multilateral interests, as well as the current global situation, especially the Ukraine situation, the Taiwan issue, and the food security issue. Besides, health system, human rights and Rohingya issues will be on the discussion table.
Apart from Sison, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi will step into Dhaka amid the tense situation between the United States and China surrounding the visit of Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Parliament Congress, to Taiwan.
It is known that during the important visit of the Biden administration, the courtesy meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Foreign Minister Dr. Apart from the meeting with AK Abdul Momen, he will discuss various issues with more important ministers and senior officials of the government. Besides, Sison may also meet with representatives of civil society.
