47641 Hajj pilgrims return home: ministry

After performing the holy Hajj in Saudi Arabia, 47,910 pilgrims have returned home. Since July 14, a total of 133 flights have reached Dhaka with Hajis.
IT Helpdesk Hajj Bulletin of the Ministry of Religious Affairs informed this on Wednesday.
It has also been informed that 72 flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 54 flights of Saudia Airlines and 7 flights of Flynas Airlines are being operated to bring Hajids home. The return flight of pilgrims will end on August 4.
Meanwhile, 25 Bangladeshi pilgrims have died during Hajj this year. 18 of them are male and seven are female.
Holy Hajj was celebrated on 8th July. Hajj was held with a total of 10 lakh pilgrims, including 8.5 lakh from abroad. In 2019, about 2.5 million pilgrims from all over the world participated in Hajj. But then the Saudi Hajj authorities were forced to reduce the number of pilgrims due to the coronavirus.
This time 60 thousand 146 people from Bangladesh performed Hajj. They went to Hajj in 165 flights along with Hajj management and Hajj delegation. Among them, 30 thousand 363 pilgrims went to Saudi Arabia by Bangladesh Airlines flight, 23 thousand 919 pilgrims by Saudi Airlines and 5 thousand 864 pilgrims went to Saudi Arabia through Flynas Airlines.
