Rain likely to continue

As an outlook for next 72 hours, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Tuesday predicted: "Rainfall activity is likely to continue."
The Met Office also forecasted that light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at many places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Dhaka and Khulna divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at isolated places over the country," said a Met Office release issued this morning.
Besides, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.
Country's maximum temperature yesterday was recorded 37.2 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and today's minimum temperature 25.0 degrees Celsius was jointly at Sitakunda, Rangamati and Hatiya in the Chattogram division.
The highest rainfall during the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded 67 mm in Sandwip of Chattogram division.
The sun sets at 6:50 pm today and rises at 5:16 am tomorrow in the capital.
