Rain likely to increase

As an outlook for next 72 hours, Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Monday predicted: "Rainfall activity may increase". 

The Met Office also forecasted that light to moderate rain or thunder showers with temporary gusty wind at many places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today. 

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country," said a Met Office release issued this morning. 

Besides, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the release added. 

Country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 35.5 degrees Celsius at Faridpur in Dhaka division and today's minimum temperature 25.0 degrees Celsius was jointly at Netrokona and Rangamati.

The highest rainfall during the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded 21 mm in Khepupara of Barishal division. 

The sun sets at 6:50 pm today and rises at 5:16 am tomorrow in the capital.
