50 persons arrested for consuming, selling drugs

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 50 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs while conducting drives in different parts of the capital during the last 24 hours till 6am today.
Police arrested 50 drug traffickers with huge narcotics during the anti-drug drives, a DMP release said.
The law enforcers also seized 242 grams of heroin, 22.730 kilograms of cannabis (ganja), 3,921 pieces of yaba tablets and 30 bottles of phensidyle from the arrestees’ possessions, it said.
Police filed 42 cases against the arrestees with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
