Rain likely to increase

As an outlook for the next 72 hours, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Monday predicted: "Rainfall activity may increase." 

The Met Office also forecasted rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty wind at many places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.    

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at isolated places over the Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions," said a Met Office release issued this morning. 

Besides, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. 

Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded by 36.0 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and minimum temperature today was recorded by 25.0 degrees celsius at Tetulia in the Rangpur division. 

Highest rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00 am today was recorded by 103 millimeters(mm) at Tetulia in the Rangpur division.

The sun sets at 6:50 pm today and rises at 5:13 am tomorrow in the capital.
