The country is all set for the momentous opening of Padma Bridge, the largest bridge in the country. In the meantime, all preparations have been completed. People from all over the country start to come to the meeting place on the occasion of the Padma Bridge opening. 

People are coming to the gathering place by bus launch from different districts. As a result, long rows of buses have been seen on the main road, as well as launch boats in the Padma. For this reason, many are relying on battery-run auto vans. Some are coming in CNG-powered autorickshaws. Many have run by motorbike. 

People in the neighborhood are coming on foot. A group of people were seen beating drums and going towards the public meeting. 

Leaders and activists of Awami League and allied organizations from different districts including Khulna, Shariatpur, and Madaripur are entering the rally site chanting party slogans. Everyone is entering the rally with a smile on their face.

Meanwhile, members of law enforcement are on alert. No one is allowed to enter the meeting place by climbing the bamboo fence. They are allowing people to enter the public meeting after checking through certain entrances. Police and RAB members are in the Watch Tower. The entire area is under CCTV coverage.

The area around the two ends of the Padma Bridge has been decorated around the inauguration ceremony of the Padma Bridge. On the way from Mawa to Dhaka, two sides of the road have been arranged from the second bridge of Buriganga. Large banners and signboards are being decorated. From the very beginning of the Dhaka-Mawa Highway Expressway to Mawa Ghat, the walls on both sides of the road and several large buildings in the vicinity have been illuminated.

A large stage and pandal have been set up at the very beginning of the Padma Bridge at the end of Mawa. The whole pendulum is covered with triple. The RAB Director General also visited the meeting place.

The main public meeting place at the end of Jazira has been decorated. The main stage here is modeled on the span of the Padma Bridge. 

The premier will join the Padma Bridge inaugural ceremony at Mawa point in Munshiganj at 10 am. As per the premier’s program schedule, she will also unveil commemorative postage stamps, souvenir sheets, opening day cover and seals at 11am at Mawa point to mark the grand opening of the country’s biggest self-financed mega project which is likely to boost GDP by 1.2 to 2 percent.

The length of Padma Bridge (main bridge) is 6.15 km. The two-way flyover (viaduct) is 3.68 km. In all, the length of the bridge is 9.83 kilometers. The self-financed bridge project was implemented at a total cost of Taka 30,1933.7 crore.
