Rainfall increased in Ctg, reduced in Sylhet

The intensity of rainfall in Sylhet is decreasing, however, it has increased in Chattogram. Sylhet has received 22 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours. At the same time, Chattogram has received 242 mm of rainfall.

This information has been revealed in a forecast given by the country’s Met Office, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), on Monday morning.

According to the Met Office, 304 mm of rain was recorded in Sylhet on Sunday morning. However, only 22 mm of rain was recorded in the district till Monday morning.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) had warned that “landslides could occur” in Chattogram due to increased rainfall.

According to the meteorological office, the active monsoon over the North Bay of Bangladesh is “moderate”. Besides, day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged today.

Today, the wind speed and direction in Dhaka are likely to be 10-15 kmph from the south/southwest direction — which may temporarily increase to 30-40 kmph in gusty winds.
