Heavy rainfalls likely in 4 divisions including Sylhet

Rainfall is likely to occur over the country in the next 24 hours. However, The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted “heavy rainfalls” in four divisions (Chattogram, Sylhet, Mymensingh and Rangpur).

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am on Saturday said that there could be “moderate to heavy rains” in some parts of the country. Besides, day and night temperatures across the country may remain unchanged.

According to the Met Office, most parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions of the country will experience “light to moderate rain and thundershowers with temporary gusts of wind”.

The wind speed and direction in Dhaka was 10 to 15 kph from South and South-West – which was temporarily 30 to 40 kph.

The highest rainfall during the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded at 239 mm at Sandwip.

The country’s maximum temperature on Friday was recorded at 34.5 degrees Celsius at Jashore and today's minimum temperature 22.0 degrees Celsius was recorded at Sitakunda.

The sun sets at 6:48 pm today and rises at 5:11 am tomorrow in the capital.
