Heat wave sweeping over 4 districts may continue

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Monday predicted that a mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue. 

The Met Office also forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind may occur in different parts of the country in 24 hours as of 9:00 am tomorrow.  

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions," said a met office bulletin issued this morning.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the release added.

As an outlook for next 72 hours, the BMD predicted : "Rain or thunder showers activity may increase." 

The country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 36.8 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and minimum temperature today was 21.5 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur in Rangpur division.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded 57 mm at Sylhet.

The sun sets at 6:47 pm today and rises at 5:11 am tomorrow in the capital.
