Rain or thunder showers likely over country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Sunday predicted rain or thunder showers with intense lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur over most places of the country during next 24 hours beginning 9:00 am today.

"Rain or thunder showers with intense lightning flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy (22-43) mm to heavy (44-88) mm falls at places over the country," said a Met Office bulletin issued this morning.

Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

Country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded by 34.8 degrees Celsius at Satkhira and minimum temperature today was recorded by 21.2 degrees Celsius at Chattogram, Barishal and Bhola. 

The sun sets at 6:37 pm today and rises at 5:13 am tomorrow in the capital.
