Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that there is no legal basis of any organization named Gono Commission.

He was responding to a question from reporters after the 27th annual conference of Lions Club International at Bangabandhu International Conference Center on Friday afternoon.

"I don't know what the Gono Commission wrote in its letter. We didn't see those names written in the letter were liable for terrorism or corruption. Therefore we cannot say anything about it," Kamal said.

"The law enforcement agencies will take action against those who are involved in extortion after my name," the home minister said.

He said everyone is equal in law.

"Whoever commits a crime will be punished. The man who went to extort money using my name has been caught and a weapon was recovered from his possession," the minister added.
