Rain with intense lightning flashes likely at many places

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Sunday predicted rain or thunder showers with intense lightning flashes at many places over the country in the next 24 hours as of 9:00 am tomorrow.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers with intense lightning flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the northern part of the country," said a met office release issued this morning.
Besides, day and night temperature may remain nearly uncahanged over the country, it added.
As an outlook for next 72 hours, the BMD predicted: "Rain or thunder showers activity may increase at the end period."
Country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 36.2 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and minimum temperature today was 22.5 degrees Celsius at Sylhet.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded at 68 mm at Rajarhat in Rangpur division.
The sun sets at 6:34 pm today and rises at 5:16 am tomorrow in the capital.
