3 killed in separate road accidents in city

Three people have been killed in separate road accidents in the capital Dhaka. They are - Md. Morshed Alam, 40, Md. Munna, 28, and Anwarul Alam Avi, 30.
The accidents took place on Friday morning and Thursday night at Alighat in Chawkbazar Police Station, Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover and at Shonir Akhra area in Jatrabari Police Station.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp in-charge Md. Bachchu Mia has confirmed the news of the accidents to the media.
Chawkbazar police station sub-inspector (SI) Rajib Kumar Sarkar said Md. Morshed Alam was seriously injured when he was hit by an autorickshaw at Alighat intersection in Chawkbazar around 6:30 am on Friday. He was later rescued and taken to DMCH where he succumbed to his injuries at around 8:30 am.
Khorshed Alam, elder brother of the deceased, said his brother used to sell raw materials on the pavement. He lived in the Alighat area with his wife Tania and an only daughter.
Autorickshaw driver Shah Alam has been arrested, police said, adding that the body has been kept in the morgue of DMCH Hospital for autopsy.
Meanwhile, Wari police sub-inspector (SI) Tapos said a man named Munna fell while boarding a signboard-bound “Thikana Paribahan” bus on the Mayor Mohammad Hanif flyover at around 7:45 pm on Thursday. The bus crushed Munna and left. He was later declared dead by on-duty doctors when pedestrians rushed him to DMCH Hospital in critical condition.
On the other hand, a youth named Anwarul Alam Avi was killed when he was hit by a private car while crossing the road at Shanir Akhra area in Jatrabari in the capital around 10:30 pm on Thursday. The private car fled after the incident.
