About one crore people left the capital on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr. About 20 lakh of them returned on Thursday and Friday.
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said this on Saturday afternoon, citing mobile operators.
He said 6 lakh 32 thousand 485 mobile SIM users returned to the capital on Thursday after the Eid holiday while 13 lakh 97 thousand 680 people came on Friday. In the last two days, 20 lakh 29 thousand 165 SIM users have entered the capital city from different districts of the country.
Mustafa Jabbar added that many people have more than one SIM card and this calculation is made calculating only SIM users. However, many have left Dhaka with family members, whose children or teenagers do not have mobile phones.
