Government employees have been able to enjoy six consecutive holidays including two-day weekly leave this Eid-ul-Fitr. The holiday is coming to an end today (Wednesday).
That is why govt offices, courts, secretariats, and all business establishments including banks are opening tomorrow. After opening the office on this day, there is another two days weekly holiday.
Due to Coronavirus epidemic, there was no congregation at the Eidgah for the last two years. However, this time Eid prayer has been offered on Tuesday all over the country including National Eidgah with great enthusiasm.
This year, the government employees got six-day holiday at a stretch. April 29 and 30 were weekly holidays, May 1 was public holiday for May Day and May 2, 3 and 4 were public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr. If anyone takes leave on May 5, will be able to enjoy nine-day holidays in a row.
Many will return to work tonight to join work on Thursday. However, it is known that most of them take one-day leave and spend nine days off.
According to the Ministry of Public Administration, any officer-employee will have to take leave on May 5 in order to enjoy nine consecutive holidays, including Eid and weekly leave. And if someone is absent from work without taking leave on May 5, the leave before and after that time will be deducted from his/her casual leave.
