The process of bringing back the 28 sailors trapped in the Bangladesh Shipping Corporation’s ship ‘MV Bangla Samriddhi’ in Ukraine is underway. However, State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said “it was not certain whether Russia or Ukraine attacked” the ship.
He made the remarks in response to a query from reporters at the Secretariat in the capital on Thursday.
The State Minister for Shipping said “extensive efforts” are being made at the diplomatic level to rescue or evacuate the 26 Bangladeshi sailors stranded on the ‘MV Bangla Samriddhi’ ship stationed in Ukraine.
The State Minister said the return of the body of Hadisur, a Bangladeshi sailor killed in the rocket attack on a ship, depended on the war situation.
Mentioning that the Bangladesh government was not sure who carried out the attack, the State Minister said once the matter is confirmed, we will talk about it
