Light rain or drizzle likely over country

The weather may remain mainly dry with a partly cloudy sky over the country, having chances of light rain or drizzle at one or two places over Sylhet division in the next 24 hours ending tomorrow at 9 am.
This was forecasted by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) in a weather bulletin, signed by BMD’s Deputy Director Meteorologist Md. Shaheenul Islam, on Friday.
According to the BMD weather bulletin, “moderate to thick fog” may occur at places over the North-western part and river basins and light to moderate fog may occur at places elsewhere over the country from midnight to morning.
Besides, night temperature may rise slightly and day temperature may fall slightly over the country during the period, it added.
The country’s Met Office, BMD, also forecasted rainfall activity in the next 72 hours or within three days.
Meanwhile, BMD’s Deputy Director Meteorologist Md. Shaheenul Islam said a trough of westerly low is being lied over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining areas. As a result, a ridge of Sub-continental high has extended up to Bihar and adjoining areas. So, the seasonal low has been lying over South Bay.
The country’s maximum temperature was recorded at 27.8°C yesterday at Teknaf in the Chattogram division while today’s minimum temperature was recorded at 9.9°C at Badalgachhi in the Rajshahi division.
Today’s sunset will be at 5:37 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 6:43 am.
