Language activist and eminent educationist Khan Ziaul Haque
Language activist Khan Ziaul Haque had died at the age of 95. He died at his residence in Jame Masjid Road (Jutapotti) area of the city at 7.10 pm on Friday (January 14).
The former headmaster of Magura AG Academy, mostly known as Kathu sir, was a social worker and eminent educationist.
In the working life of this language activist, he was the headmaster of Magura AG Academy. He also established Magura Ardasha College, Magura Government Women's College, Government Primary School No. 3, Ayurvedic Medical College, Shishu Academy, Syed Atar Ali Memorial Library, Magura Town Hall Club. He contributed culturally in drama, poetry, recitation, music etc.
Advocate Saifuzzaman Shikhor, MP of Magura-1 and Advocate Shri Biren Sikder, MP of Magura-2 have expressed their condolences to the bereaved family on the death of language activist Ziaul Haque. Magura District Awami League Acting President AMF Abdul Fattah, Upazila Chairman Abu Nasir Bablu, District Council Chairman Pankaj Kundu, Municipal Mayor Khurshid Haider Tutul, Convener of Jubo League Fazlur Rahman, General Secretary of Magura Press Club Shamim Ahmed Khan and others also expressed condolence.
According to family sources, the Namaj-e-Janaza of the deceased will be held at Nomani Moidan ground of the city at 2 pm on Saturday after Johar prayer. He will be buried in the municipal cemetery.
