NCC polls: Campaign ends at midnight

Only one day left for the Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) election. The candidates are spending busy times in the election campaign. However, the campaign for the NCC polls is going to end today, Friday (January 14), at midnight.
Meanwhile, there are anxiety and doubt among the voters on how the polls will be. Awami League candidate Selina Hayat Ivy and independent candidate Advocate Taimur Alam Khandaker are constantly moving forward with their own strategy to win the polls.
They are winning the hearts of the voters with various promises. The analysts are analysis on who will be the controller or factor in the victory or defeat in the election for the post of mayor.
“The Election Commission (EC) has allowed 42 observers from 9 organizations to observe the Narayanganj City Corporation election,” confirmed Election Commission (EC) Public Relations Director SM Asaduzzaman.
The organizations are – Jatiya Nirbachon Porjobekkhon Parishad (JANIPP), SAARC Human Rights Foundation, Aain Sahayata Kendra (ASK), Social Development Efforts, Trinamool Development Organization, Taltala Youth Development Organization, Rehaf Foundation, BB Achea Foundation and Manobadhikar O Samaj Unnayan Sangstha-MOSUS.
However, in order to act as an observer, the EC has instructed these organizations to submit their reports within a week after the close of the polls.
Noted that the election on Sunday (January 18). Apart from Timur and Ivy, 5 more people are contesting for the post of mayor. There are 146 general councilors and 32 reserved councilors.
There are 5,17,357 voters in this city of about 20 lakh people - among them, 2,57,519 are female voters and 2,59,834 are male voters.
