Dengue cases rising in country; 14 hospitalized in 24hrs

The dengue cases in the country are on the rise – in the last 24 hours, 14 more people were hospitalized at various hospitals after being infected with dengue fever.

The information was obtained in a press release sent from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday.

The press release said 14 new dengue patients were admitted to various government and public hospitals in the country in the last 24 hours. All the new patients were hospitalized outside Dhaka hospitals.

The press release added that a total of 39 dengue patients are currently hospitalized in the country’s different public and private hospitals. Among these, 22 were treated at Dhaka’s public and private hospitals and 17 were treated outside Dhaka hospitals.  

from January 1 this year to January 12, the total number of dengue patients stands at 91. At the same time, 52 patients left hospitals after recovery. No one died of dengue this year.

From January 1 to December 31 last year, the number of dengue patients admitted to the hospitals was 28,429. At the same time, 28,265 people returned home after recovery and 105 died of dengue.
