Fire at Green Road RS Tower under control

The fire that broke out on the 5th-floor of the 14-storey building of RS Tower in the capital’s Green Road is being brought under control. Four units of the fire service brought the fire under control after a one-hour effort.
The fire was brought under control at 11:20 am on Friday, confirmed Rashed bin Khalid, duty officer of the fire service control room.
Rashed bin Khalid said the fire at the 5th-floor of the 14-storey building of RS Tower in the capital’s Green Raod was brought under control at 11:20 am. Our 4 units worked for about 1 hour and brought the fire under control.
Rashed bin Khalid added that the fire broke out in the building around 10:30 am on Friday (January 8). Upon receiving the news, four units of the fire service started working to control the fire. Initially, the cause of the fire and no casualties were reported.
Earlier, a fire broke out on the 11th-floor of Rahat Tower at Bangla Motor at around 11:04 am yesterday (Thursday).
Majidul Islam, a firefighter at the control room of the fire service and civil defense headquarters, confirmed the matter.
Majidul Islam said the fire service got the news of the fire at Rahat Tower in Bangla Motor at 11:04 on Thursday.
He added that the fire was doused. However, fire service personnel are working to control the smoke coming out of the building.
Majidul Islam said the cause of the fire was not initially known. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
No casualties were reported as workers in an office in the building rushed out of the blaze. There were two television offices with several pharmacies on different floors of the tower.
