Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said that we are monitoring the Omicron infection, the new variant of Covid-19. If we think that we need to reduce the number of classes to ensure the health care of teachers and students, we will reduce it. We will close in-person classes if necessary.
He came up with the development while answering questions from reporters at the inaugural function of the International Film Festival dedicated to the heroic freedom fighters at the International Mother Tongue Institute on Monday evening.
The education minister said the corona infection rate is increasing in neighboring India. This rate of infection is less in our country compared to India. However, in the meantime, Omicron variants have been identified in the bodies of some people. So we have to be very careful.
She added that in 2020 and 2021, the number of infections in the country has increased in March. So it is not clear how will be the situation till March.
