31 detained in anti-drug drive in capital

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 31 in an anti-drug drive for selling and consuming drugs in the capital.
They were detained during raids in different police stations in the capital from 6 am on Friday to the same time on Saturday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of DMP's Media and Public Relations Department Hafiz Al Asad confirmed the information to media.
He said 13,717 pieces of yaba, 38 kg 190 gm of cannabis, 70 gm of 135 puria heroin, 5 bottles of 750 ml of domestic liquor, 9 cans of beer and 200 gm of ice were recovered from the detainees.
The police official also said that 23 cases have been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act at the DMP police station.
