48 detained in anti-drug drive in capital

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has detained 48 in anti-drug drives on charges of selling and consuming drugs in raids in different areas of the capital in the last 24 hours.
They were arrested during raids from 6 am on Thursday to 6 am on Friday as a part of the DMP's regular anti-drug drive.
DMP Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations (DC) Faruk Hossain confirmed this information.
He said 982 pieces of yaba, 564 grams 43 puria heroin and 4 kg 950 grams cannabis were recovered from the 48 arrested persons. A total of 34 cases have been registered against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
